Learn more about what our nurses do in the below clinics
These clinics are very beneficial for our nervous patients. Visiting the Vet can be incredibly stressful for some pets and their owners.
These visits aim to be a positive experience for both you and your pet. They aim to get your pet to relax in our practice environment and slowly build them up so coming to the Vets becomes an enjoyable experience. These visits help to reassure your pet’s so we don’t do anything that would worry them, we just give them lots of fuss and treats! (With your permission).
We can also get them used to having a basic examination without being fearful. This will include getting them used to having their paws touched, their ears, eyes and teeth examined and having a stethoscope on their chest to listen to their heart.

If you are learning to live with a pet who is diabetic, you will appreciate our nurse’s professional help and support. During the clinics, we will discuss:
We will also teach you how to monitor your pet and manage their condition. Managing diabetic patients can be time consuming and difficult but our nurses are here to help and support you along this treatment journey.
We will then see your pet’s every 3 months to monitor their condition, check their weight and to check to make sure that you as owners are okay as well.
Like us our pets can experience discomfort in a variety of forms and to varying degrees.
Understandably, as a pet gets older signs of discomfort or mobility issues become more obvious. But, unfortunately mobility issues can occur in pets of all life stages. As our pets are unable to tell us in words how they feel, it is our job as owners to look out for signs that might indicate that there is a problem – such as:
The mobility clinics are designed to help support you as owners and offer advice on how you can help your pet alleviate discomfort and become more active. As Veterinary Nurses if we feel it is necessary we will also refer them to a vet if further medical intervention is needed.
During the clinic we will go through the mobility pet questionnaire. We will discuss the changes that you have noted in your pet’s behaviour and create a suitable action plan designed for your pet’s needs.

These days our pets are living longer and longer! However, we consider patients over the age of 7 years to be ‘senior’.
Like us, our pets can develop age related diseases such as diabetes, kidney problems, hypertension or issues with their eyesight. They will often hide any discomfort they are in though, due to their primal survival instincts, leading back to when our pets were wild.
At Well House Vets we are passionate about providing care for patients of all life stages. These clinics are designed to help support your pet in their senior years and if we feel it is necessary we will also refer them to a vet if further medical intervention is needed.
During the clinic we will go through the senior pet questionnaire. We will discuss the changes that you have noted in your pet’s behaviour, bodily functions, activity/mobility, skin and coat conditions. We will also give recommendations on how to manage the changes and give you advice on suitable diets for pets.

Obesity is the disease with the highest prevalence worldwide with a growing impact on dogs and cats.
Some medical conditions which are associated with obesity include:
Our nurses can also offer advice to owners who are finding they are struggling to get their pets to gain and maintain their weight.
During the clinics our experienced nurses will go through the pre filled in questionnaire, so we have a better understanding on your pet’s current exercise and diet requirements. We will weigh your pet and carry out a body condition score. We then discuss a suitable diet and exercise plan for your pet to help with the weight loss.
